Haitian Flag Mr. Speaker, jodia se fête drapeau haïtien. Today it is my privilege to draw the Canadian House of Commons' attention to the 219th anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag. The blue and red flag represents the abolition of slavery in the colonies and the proclamation of liberty and equality for all.

Mother's Day Mr. Speaker, on the occasion of Mother's Day, I want to wish all the best to all women. In particular, I want to acknowledge the resilience of seniors in Bourassa, who are paying a heavy price because of the COVID‑19 pandemic. Health-wise, seniors are suffering the most due to isolation from their loved ones.

Innovation, Science and Industry Mr. Speaker, we on this side of the House know that vaccines save lives. That is why we made an announcement with Moderna last week regarding plans to build a plant in Montreal capable of producing up to 100 million vaccines. This is very promising for our biomanufacturing. Could the Minister of Innovation comment on the importance of this partnership to the health sector and the Canadian economy?

Mock Cabinet at Bourassa School Mr. Speaker, yesterday I had the honour, for the sixth consecutive year, of swearing in the mock cabinet of class 321 at École Jean‑Nicolet in Bourassa. This exercise started in 2009 as a way to teach kids aged 11 and 12 about good governance and democracy. I marked the occasion by presenting a certificate to each cabinet member as their parents looked on.

Foreign Affairs Madam Speaker, there are strong ties between Canada and the Caribbean. It is by working together with our partners that we can meet the challenges we face, particularly those related to regional stability, COVID-19 and climate change. Can the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs inform the House how this joint organization between Canada and the Caribbean Community, or CARICOM, is helping us to meet these challenges and strengthen these essential ties?

Domestic Violence Mr. Speaker, intimate partner violence needs to end, and it needs to end now. This matters to everyone because intimate partner violence destroys families and causes serious harm in our society. I salute community organizations for the important work they do to help women and children fleeing violence perpetrated by violent partners.

International Women's Day Mr. Speaker, Bourassa would not be the inclusive and diverse riding it is without the contribution of women who are committed to building a strong and vibrant community. For the past five years, International Women's Day has served as an opportunity for me to highlight the work of women who deserve to be honoured.

Small Business Mr. Speaker, the pandemic is hurting not only Canadians, industries, and small businesses, but also community organizations. Our government has supported them by quickly rolling out programs such as the Canada emergency response benefit and the Canada emergency wage subsidy. We have also created a more targeted program, the Black entrepreneurship program, which is very welcome in the riding of Bourassa.
